As well as a range of think pieces covering innovation themes across a number of markets (see our latest telecoms insight here), Innovation Observatory publishes a monthly journal looking at the clean tech industry, and also supplies content to other publishing businesses.

Our publishing activities cover:

Innovation theory and practice

Our forthcoming report Best practice in product and service development: The use of tools and technologies to support innovation examines how technologies and tools of many different kinds are used to support companies in their development of products and services. The report introduces a schema grouping tools into three functional areas, mapping the areas on to a generic product and service development process. It presents the results of a survey of enterprises that indicates how tools are used and their effectiveness evaluated. It includes case studies from companies in different sectors showing how tools can be successfully deployed, and it profiles example leading suppliers of relevant tools and technologies. The report will be published by SPG Media.

Clean / green technology and markets

We publish our own analytical journal, Clean Energy Insight, which is available free to qualified applicants.

We have also published a report Meeting the challenges of climate change and environmental legislation: lessons from early movers (May 2009) that examines the impact of current and forthcoming European environmental legislation for large and small businesses in EU member states, drawing learning points from early-mover enterprises about how best to introduce sustainable changes necessary to respond to this legislation, and what the business benefits area report on the impact of European legislation on business.
